For the fifth time in a row, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls basketball team battled their way to the regional championship and defeated Carlisle to punch their ticket to the state tournament. The Mustangs would defeat Maquoketa in the quarterfinals at the state tournament, but unfortunately would fall to North Polk in the semifinals bringing the Mustangs season to a close.
Senior Neela Williamson would be a vital bench player and sixth woman on the Mustangs squad. Williamson’s quickness and speed helped her earn all conference honorable mention for the Little Hawkeye Conference. Williamson ended the season playing in 21 games with 28 points, 28 assists, 21 steals and 17 total rebounds.
