A new two year cycle will begin this fall for high school football on how to decide playoff qualifiers. This year will bring new districts throughout the state. Perry football will see some familiar names. The Bluejays share a District with Harlan, Atlantic, and Creston again. Greene County, who jumped from 2A to 3A, will be apart of the teams competing for the playoff spots. While the District closes out with Carroll.
The top 2 teams in each pod will make the playoffs. Then, 4 more teams in 3A will qualify as at large playoff teams. Perry football finished last year 2-7. They were defeated in all 5 District games last year.
