A Des Moines man was recently arrested for an alleged incident in Jefferson.

According to court documents, on February 13th, 56-year-old Christopher Reber won a jackpot from a slot machine from Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson of $1,379. Court documents show that after Reber won the jackpot, he got up and left the machine and another person sat down and claimed the winnings by signing an IRS W9 form under penalty of perjury.

The affidavit states that security video footage showed Reber won the jackpot and when his information was ran through the Iowa Department of Revenue Setoff database, Reber owed over $26,000 in setoffs. A warrant was issued on Reber charging him with a Class D Felony for gambling-avoid setoff and an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree fraudulent practices. He was arrested in Boone County on March 6th and was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
