Carter Morton of Jefferson and his University of Northern Iowa track & field teammates are in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Indoor Championships today and Monday. The coed event is being held at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago.

Morton is a 2020 Greene County High School graduate and the son of Chad and Deb Morton of Jefferson. He’s won multiple MVC individual titles in the past, both indoors and outdoors. A multi-event athlete, Morton normally competes indoors in the Heptathlon (7 events) at Conference meets, but not this year. He’s scheduled for four field events between today and tomorrow- the pole vault, high jump, long jump, and triple jump.
