
The Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs boys basketball team look to follow in the Lady Mustangs footsteps as they are one step away from qualifying for the state tournament. The Mustangs have just one more opponent in their way, as DCG travels to Valley High School to face off against the Tigers for the regional championship. The Mustang boys look to join the girls who have their first game of the state tournament on Tuesday, before the boys regional championship match also on Tuesday.
Cason helped push the Mustangs past the Ankeny Hawks on Friday night to advance to the regional championship 76-69. Cason would have a historical performance, scoring 45 points against the Hawks helping them come back and take the lead in the third scoring an incredible 29 points in the second half. The Mustangs look to advance to the state tournament but first must defeat the Valley Tigers at Valley High School on Tuesday night. Tip off is set for 7:30pm with coverage on KDLS.
