
The Greene County and Paton-Churdan Speech Teams are competing today at the Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Speech Contest.
Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray says ten students are involved in 11 events, including Maggie Mikkelsen who is the only student that is competing in two categories with Reviewing and Literary Program. Gray notes that other entries include Prose, Expository Address, Storytelling and Musical Theater.
Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Amanda Tasler says eight students are competing in 11 events, with three of those students each doing two performances. Those students are Ella Tasler, Phoenix Hartman, and Catarina Hobbs.
Both schools are headed to CAM School District in Anita today. Students who receive a Division I-rating will advance to the state contest. See the full list of the students from each high school and what they are competing in below.
