The Paton Fire Department is gearing up to host its annual fundraiser tomorrow.
Fire Chief Jonathan Marshall says the event begins at 5pm at the Paton Firestation with a smoked pork chop meal that includes potato salad, baked beans, chips and beverages for $20. Then following the meal, Marshall points out there will be casino-style games that go until midnight, and there is a cash and gun raffle as well. The raffle includes a 400 Legend or a 17-caliber Savage twister bull barrel, along with a cash pay out of $1,000 or $250. He says the first winner will get to choose either the two guns or the cash. Raffle tickets are $15 each.
Marshall adds that the money they raise from this event goes toward constantly having to replace old and out of date bunker gear for the firefighters. Last year, Marshall says there were about 175 people that attended and about $8,700 was raised.
