
With the National Weather Service reporting strong winds in Iowa today, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office pinpoints several brush fires that have happened within the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area.
According to Dallas County Chief Deputy Bret Maxwell, there were three known fires in the coverage area, including Redfield, Guthrie Center, and DeSoto. Maxwell indicates that local nearby fire departments are taking care of the fires in the areas. The National Weather Service says that wind gusts could be as strong as 50 miles per hour and that a red flag warning is in effect for the day. According to the National Weather Service, the wind will die down this weekend as temperatures will be in the mid-30s tomorrow and close to 50 degrees on Sunday.
