A student from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School recently won a state championship for a newer sports program.
ADM junior Cole Darling came out on top at the Iowa High School State Class 2A Individual Bowling Tournament on Tuesday. He is the first athlete to bring a championship home for the bowling program in the school’s history. ADM partnered with the Waukee School District for the past number of years and this school year was the debut season for the program.
Darling was ranked second in the state going into the tournament as he proceeded to knock off Keokuk’s Pray Lawson in the first round, followed by Taylor Lindner of LeMars, and then defeated the top seeded Trey VanWyk of Oskaloosa in the championship game. Darling will return for his senior year to defend his title.
