A recent donation is helping to make this year’s spring musical at Greene County High School even better.
Beta Tau Delta, the non-profit organization that has supported youth in Greene County for over 100 years, gave $1,500 as a sponsor for the musical, “The Little Mermaid.” Vocal Director David Heupel says the donation is being used to build several backdrops that this production requires, along with replenishing some makeup kits. Beta Tau Delta President Teresa Green-Hoodjer says the funds were made possible from a fundraising campaign that was done last year with area residents and businesses.
Heupel expresses his gratitude for not only Beta Tau Delta’s donation but for everyone that has helped with getting the musical ready for showtime on March 7th-9th, including co-director Darren Jackson.
“Musical rehearsals are going on like crazy. We have a great crew dads and others (of the cast) that come help on Saturdays with set construction, Katie Nelson is helping us with choreography, we got some financial help from both BOOST (Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers) and from Beta Tau Delta, they both have offered to sponsor some things. So some really good things going on. But yeah, it’s very busy.”
Tickets are now available for $15 online via Bound for the 7pm shows on March 7th and 8th and the 2pm matinee for March 9th at the high school auditorium. Click here to purchase tickets.
