
Perry boys basketball hosted North Polk in the opening round of the 3A playoffs. In the first match up since 2021, North Polk led wire to wire in the quarterfinal victory, 84-39.
The Comets went on a 7-0 run after the game was tied at 2-2 and coasted to a 22-4 first quarter lead. North Polk came into the game averaging 51.3 points a night and scored 51 in the first half as the score was 51-12 at the break. The Bluejays managed 11 points in the third and trailed 72-23 going into the fourth. Final 84-39.
Drahos had a team high 12 points for Perry as the Bluejays saw an old friend, Yonas Andemichael. The former Bluejay state qualifier in Cross Country transferred to North Polk for his senior season.
The loss ends the Bluejays season at 13-10.
