Of the five Panthers that attended the boys state wrestling tournament, four of those fiver Panthers are seniors, wrapping up their careers as Panther wrestlers at the Wells Fargo Arena. The Panther seniors that qualified for the state tournament include: Landon Kirtley at 138, Will Knapp at 150, Gabe Wagner at 157, and Joel Cooper at 285. This ties the record of state qualifiers in Panorama history, tying with the 2018 squad that also sent 5 wrestlers to the state tournament.
Head coach of the Panther wrestling team Jason Kirtley reflected on these seniors stating, “they’re a special group. They tied the record for most state qualifiers at Panorama with the 2018 squad. They’re going to forever live in my heart because we’ve only done this twice in our entire history.”
Coach Kirtley is excited for the 2025 season while also proud of his seniors for their hard work this season.
