
The Greene County High School Wrestling Team shone brightly this past Saturday as one individual came home from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines a state champion.
Senior Brent Dennhardt won the Class 2A 157-pound state title on Saturday as the eighth seed. Dennhardt went a perfect 4-0 at the tournament, while also defeating the top-seeded wrestler at 157-pounds in Class 2A in the quarterfinals on his way to being the best in Iowa. Every match that Dennhardt had at the state tournament was won without a pinfall. Dennhardt finished his senior year with 29 wins and two losses and his first state championship.
