February is National Library Lovers Month.
Mary J Barnett Memorial Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that it makes sense that February has been designated with the distinction, with Valentine’s Day being the major holiday for the month. She mentions that with libraries having more and more services besides books, they’ve become more important in their communities than before. Hawkins adds that not only do most modern libraries have books, but other services like online catalogs of local newspapers, digital options, host meetings for several different groups, and much more.
