
The Greene County High School Wrestling Team will be well represented at the State Wrestling Tournament.
The Rams have six student-athletes that qualified from this past weekend’s district tournament. Senior Brent Dennhardt won the district championship at 157-pounds and is making his third state appearance, and the other district championship for the Rams was Degan Miller at 165-pounds and qualified for the second time to the state tournament.
The other state qualifiers for Greene County were runners-up at the district tournament. Those wrestlers include seniors Gavyn Winters at 120-pounds and the 215-pounder Marcus Ball, along with sophomores Brenna Jacobs at 106-pounds and Jaron Jacobs with the 113-pound weight class.
Greene County is scheduled to begin this evening with Class 2A at 6pm, with Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network providing live coverage of each match, as well as all other area schools during the state tournament from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines through the finals on Saturday.
