Ar-We-Va was a Class 1A boys’ basketball district tournament first round winner over Paton-Churdan in Westside by a final of 85-46. Coach Josh Cerveny’s Rockets finished the season with a 6-16 record, and one of the higher win totals in recent seasons. AWV led 45-25 at intermission.

The P-C coach told Raccoon Valley Radio sophomore Trevon Keely led the Rockets with 19 points, followed by junior Phoenix Hartman with 12 points and nine for junior Kinnick Steimel. Sophomore Bryce Stephenson had eight rebounds with six from Keely, and Hartman with five. Blane Smith of AWV led all scorers with 25 points.

“A big offseason is coming up for us,” said Coach Cerveny.
