Perry girls wrestlers spent Thursday and Friday at the State Tournament in Coralville.  Mercedes Ponce had the best performance for the Jayettes.  The senior picked up 7th place in the 105 weight class.  In the final match of her high school career, she beat Audrina Bennett from Spirit Lake by ((TF-1.5 3:03 (16-0)).  Ponce finished the Tournament 2-2.  Julie Maylum, Cate and Ayden Erickson all competed for Perry.  All three girls had their season end during the Thursday session.  Cate and Ayden both won their first round match ups in upsets based on seedings.  Then fell in their final two matches.  Julie dropped her opening match before finishing 1-2 in the tournament.

The girls wrestling season has now concluded.
