There were a few bills that slowly made progress in the senate during the week of January 27th.
According to Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair, the biggest steps were in education. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that one piece pertained to the dissolution of Orient-Macksburg, a school in her district, while the other touched on funding for schools.
“We had a Supplemental State Aid (SSA) for student funding go through, and the Senate has followed the governor’s lead of a 2% SSA increase, which will put us at, from all sources, state, federal and local, something in the neighborhood of $18,000 and change per pupil.”
Sinclair mentions that $7,900 of that per student funding will come from the foundation formula. She adds that for her constituents, those were the two biggest bills that were covered.
