A local non-profit organization in Jefferson recently made a donation to the food pantry.

Bill Raney with the Jefferson Kiwanis Club says they dropped off their annual $500 check donation to the food pantry in Jefferson, the Greene County Action Resource Center. Raney tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Kiwanis Club budgets for this donation because they see that nutritious food for children and their families is one of the organization’s main focuses.

Raney says the motto for Kiwanis International is “Serving the children of the world.” He adds that the Kiwanis Club has several fundraisers throughout the year to raise money to help the youth of Greene County. Those fundraisers include the chicken dinner in the spring, the pancake breakfast in October, and their ongoing can redemption collection bin at Ace Hardware.
