The Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be holding reshowings of commercial pesticide applicator trainings.

Program Director Shelby Van Horn says that they will have a showing of the ag pest control training on February 12th from 9-11:30am. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why it’s important for commercial pesticide applicators to take these training sessions.

“Every year in order to maintain their commercial applicator license, individuals that have a commercial license have to have so many hours of continuing education to make sure that they are properly spraying and applicating their field correctly. So it’s just a recertification process for them each year. And we offer them starting in the spring and they have until the end of December of this year to get those taken care of and watched.”

Van Horn mentions that they will also have a training on February 19th for ag pest control and seed treatment.
