A wrestler from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School will be competing alongside nine of her teammates at the state tournament tomorrow.
ADM senior Reese Baxter is competing in the 235 pound weight class and facing Dallas Center-Grimes’ Aubrey Borcherding in the first round tomorrow. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that her approach is to be really aggressive and attack using her head. Baxter believes that the sport has given her a fresh perspective on life.
“I think wrestling has gave me a positive outlook on like everything and it’s made me the person I am today and just given me a good attitude towards everything.”
Her goals are to put her best effort on the mat, remained focused, and most of all…have fun. ADM partners for wrestling with Van Meter, Waukee, and Waukee Northwest High Schools. Baxter is being joined by teammates Cassidy McCallister, Natalie Keller, Izzy Duncan, Ellie Hancock, Edie Collins, Bella Bruins, Naomi Templeman, Calista Rodish, and Katie Biscoglia. RRW will start the competition at 10am tomorrow.
