The Perry Public Library is gearing up for a special time involving children in the first half of February.
The organization is observing Take Your Child to the Library Week that begins this Saturday through next Sunday, February 9th. Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer details that it’s an opportunity to recognize the programs available to anyone of all ages. She reveals that librarians will be on site to meet with guests, answer questions, and lead a tour of the library. Farmer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she enjoys getting to grow closer with lots of residents in Perry.
“I just am thrilled that in the last couple of years since I’ve worked here, I’ve gotten to know the different families and I know the kids’ names. And so, I get really excited to greet them, and see them, and have them know that I’m their librarian and that I’m here to help them and that they’re always welcome here.”
Farmer notes that during that week is a perfect chance for families to get a library card for free or even renew it. She adds that if families do stop by the library, children will be able to enter into a drawing for an ag- appropriate prize basket.
