Guthrie County State Bank is once again working with county residents to help fight hunger.

Guthrie County State Bank (GCSB) Communications Coordinator Lila Lutz says that they are conducting their annual Souper Bowl canned soup drive in conjunction with New Opportunities Guthrie County Family Development Center, something they’ve done since 2019. She adds that in that first year, 141 cans of soup were donated, and GCSB matched that for a total of 282 cans donated. Lutz mentions that last year they had 600 cans donated, and with the match were able to provide 1,200 cans of soup. She explains that soup can be dropped off at either the Guthrie Center or Panora GCSB locations until February 12th, and that Guthrie Center Elementary will be accepting canned soup donations from February 3rd to 7th. All donations go to New Opportunities for their outreach food pantry shelves to help families in Guthrie County.
