Last night the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs boys wrestling team traveled to Urbandale High School for the Ed Winger Invitational. The Mustangs found great success, with Avery Van Zelderen and Ayden Beck placing 3rd, bringing home some hardware to Dallas Center-Grimes.

At 120, Avery Van Zelderen would defeat Josh Bergkamp of Dowling Catholic by fall in 4:39 to advance to the 3rd place match up. Van Zelderen would win a tie breaker to claim 3rd place over Caleb Arroyo of Urbandale 9-6.

At 132, Ayden Beck would defeat Andrew Roland by technical fall 16-0 to advance to the 3rd place match. Beck would then defeat Aiden Serrano by major decision 10-2 to claim 3rd place.

Alongside Van Zelderen and Beck, Kellen Wegner placed 8th at 144 while Blake Forrester placed 5th at 126. The Mustangs are out of action until Saturday, as they host boys wrestling action for Little Hawkeye Conference Meet.
