District 12 Senator Amy Sinclair
With a set of companion bills moving through the Senate and the House, one Senator shares on reinstating incentives for whole grade sharing/consolidation.
Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that this is a big deal for rural school districts, and tells Raccoon Valley Radio why that is.
“Some of the best ways to provide high quality education in lower population concentration areas, is to incentivize sharing agreements for school districts. So whether that’s through operational sharing of just positions, or whether that’s through whole grade sharing as many school districts have sought out to do.”
Sinclair shares that those incentives reached a milestone called a sunset in July of 2024, and the companion bills now going through the legislature will reinstate those, so that schools who are whole grade sharing, or going through consolidation, can once again have use of those funds.
