St. Patrick’s Catholic School is hosting a new event on Saturday prior to a celebratory week ahead.

According to Principal Kandice Pattillo, the school is holding the first ever Trivia Night Saturday to kick off Catholic Schools Week. She states that the idea came from her as a way to have a fun night following the school shooting that occurred at Perry High School on January 4th, 2024.

“We are trying to do something a little different this year that just brought people together. Coming back to school in January we wanted people to have a different experience. It’s meant to just be a fun evening that will help us kick off what is supposed to be a fun week, a fun event, because even into last year, we were back in school but it was still, there was this doom and gloom in the world in Perry, so that’s what we’re trying to hope that this replaces it.”

Pattillo outlines that the night will include a free will offering of hot dogs, chips, and a drink. She adds that there will be many games available for people to play revolving around St. Patrick’s Catholic School jeopardy. The event is open to all ages for free, beginning at 5:30pm.
