History was made on Monday night for Perry girls wrestling.  Julie Maylum collected her 100th victory in school history and was the first girl to do so.  The senior reached the accomplishment in just 3 years.  Perry High School didn’t have girls wrestling until the 2022-2023 school year.  In her first year on the team, Julie won 39 matches.  Her junior campaign, she finished with 27.  To this point in her senior year, she has 34 wins.  73 of her 100 wins have came by Fall.  An additional 13 have came down to Decision.  Maylum has been defeated just 26 times the past three years.  She won’t be the only 100 win wrestler for Perry girls as fellow senior, Mercedes Ponce, sits at 98 victories and will likely win her 100th tomorrow at the Conference Meet in Story City.
