Tomorrow, Guthrie County Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will be hosting the first in a series of Ag Coffees.

Extension Program Director Shelby Van Horn says the topic is “Ag Markets for 2025 and Beyond” with guest speaker ISU Professor in Economics and Extension Grain Markets Specialist Chad Hart. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they decided to set up this series.

“We’re just kind of doing a three (part) series. We’re doing one January, February, and March and they’re different topics in ag(riculture) with different speakers. And we found some sponsors to provide refreshments for these events. So we just thought it would be a really neat opportunity to provide local people with the opportunity to discuss some ag topics more in depth.”

Tomorrow’s informal discussion starts at 9:30am at the Guthrie County Extension Office. Van Horn mentions that Peoples Bank is the sponsor of the program for the day, and there is no cost for anyone to attend. Van Horn adds that the other two events in the series will be February 14th with ISU Extension Field Agronomist Mike Witt, and on March 28th with ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Alexis Stevens.
