More information is being released relating to a multiple vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday morning near Perry.

Perry Police Chief Jim Archer says at 6:54am, 27-year-old Jaymie McKee, of Perry, was driving southbound on Willis Avenue in a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, when she crossed over the westbound lanes on Highway 141 and into the turning median. Archer states that McKee failed to yield before proceeding to cross the eastbound lanes on the highway to get to Casey’s General Store, and that’s when an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup, operated by 20-year-old Alexander Fickbohm, crashed into the Malibu, which then spun and collided with a 2024 blue Honda Accord that was stopped at the posted stop sign and waiting to turn east onto the highway.

According to Archer, there was one minor injury to one of the drivers and that individual was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Honda and Malibu were total losses, while the Silverado sustained disabling damage. Archer adds that McKee was cited for failure to yield at the intersection.
