
Paton-Churdan
The Paton-Churdan basketball teams hosted Ar-We-Va (Westside) in Churdan on Tuesday night in a Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader. The visiting Rockets won both games vs. the home Rockets with a girls’ score of 41-25 and the boys final was 56-40.
The AWV girls led 22-13 at halftime. The winning team was led in scoring by Hallie Mc Collough with 21 points, including five three-point baskets. P-C had eight points from sophomore Alivya Smith and sophomore Kaliyah Minnihan addeed five points. AWV improved to 3-9 while P-C is now 1-13.
Sophomore Trevon Keely led P-C with 15 points and senior Kinnick Steimel added 14 points. Unofficially, Kelly had 12 rebounds with Steimel hauling in six boards. Junior Phoenix Hartman and sophomore Bryce Stephenson each had five boards. Coach Josh Cerveny told Raccoon Valley Radio his squad was without junior Cayden Stream due to injury. “I take away a lot of positives from this game. We had three inexperienced players try and replace him and they competed hard.” AWV’s Blayne Smith had 14 points and Wyatt Ragaller added 12 points. AWV is 11-3 while P-C fell to 5-8.
