The first performance of the 2025 calendar year is coming up this Sunday for the Perry Fine Arts.
The non-profit organization is welcoming The Weary Ramblers to the Perry Performing Arts Center at 2pm on Sunday. Perry Fine Arts Chairperson Cathy Clark tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they are a newer Iowa folk duo consisting of Kathryn Severing-Fox on the fiddle and Chad Elliott playing guitar. She elaborates on how she met the pair.
“I was invited to the Carolyn Hill Farm for a summer outdoor concert beside a pond. It was wonderful, and so I was invited the second year. I know that Chad was at the (Perry Public) library for one of the Art on the Prairie and he paints. During the pandemic, he did a project where he painted to his music.”
Clark encourages people to come support Severing-Fox and Elliott as she reveals that their chemistry is top notch. The performance is happening on Sunday at 2pm and is open to the public for free.
