The Panorama School Board approved an agreement that helps some staff members.
Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that the agreement comes after the district was awarded a grant. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about this opportunity for a few of their staff.
“We’re one of 11 schools in the state right now that were awarded this grant for over $114,000. And what this is, is a Teacher and Paraeducator Registered Apprenticeship (TPRA), so we’re able to have three slots through the Iowa Workforce (Development) and ‘hire’ our paraeducators to go get their teaching license for completely free.”
Huebner mentions that the Board is excited for this opportunity to work on building a pipeline for talent and future teaching positions. He adds that the district and the three paraeducators are working on finishing getting registered so that they can continue with the next steps.
