A Michigan man, who was responsible for killing an Adel man a couple of years ago, was recently sentenced to prison.
Sources say 56-year-old Dmytro Prysich of Hamtramck, Michigan, was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison after he hit and killed 45-year-old Joshua Villa, of Adel, on November 12, 2023. Court documents show that Prysich was driving west in a semi-truck on Interstate-80 near the Urbandale area, and did not slow down as emergency crews were on the right shoulder assisting a vehicle that was being towed. The 2024 Volvo Semi-Tractor and Trailer hit Villa, who was the tow truck driver, as Villa was getting out of his truck.
According to court documents, a Polk County jury found him guilty this past October of a Class B Felony for vehicular homicide and a Class C Felony for leaving the scene of an accident-causing death. Sources say Prysich was ordered to pay $150,000 in victim restitution to the Villa family.
