The Perry gym will be jam packed with wrestling the next few days.  It starts tonight with the Jayettes hosting a tournament.  Coach TJ Maylum says a lot of work has gone into getting everything ready.  “Minus the setup and all the other headache that we have to give with our athletic director Tina and she’s been awesome to work with and getting this set up. It’s nice. I sure as heck hope a lot of people come out Friday night.”

The night will feature 14 weight classes and eight girls in each bracket.  Perry will use the evening to celebrate it’s seniors.  “They deserve every bit of it. We’ve got three on the team that we will be honoring and then one of our managers so not a huge ceremony but it’s a good one if you want to catch me crying cuz that’ll be one of mine graduating.”  TJ is talking about his daughter, Julie Maylum.  Also, being honored will be Mercedes Ponce and Allison Canales.

The boys will then take the mat on Saturday morning.  The Bluejays will host the Perry Invite at 9:30A tomorrow.  At least 13 teams are scheduled to attend the Perry Invite.
