The Greene County High School basketball teams hosted PCM (Monroe) in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy makeup basketball in Jefferson on Thursday night. The number 10 Class 3A PCM Mustangs were 60-22 winners over the girls from Greene County, and the boys final was 57-48 in favor or PCM.

The PCM girls improve to 12-2 and 8-1 in HOIAC play while the Rams fell to 0-13, 0-9. Ram sophomore Makenna Ebersole had 10 points for Greene County with five from sophomore Sara Morlan, four for junior Kaycee Pittman, and three for freshman Faith Hymez-Diaz. The Mustangs 10 players score two or more points and were led by junior Tori Lindsey with 14 points.

The Mustangs, sank 11 baskets from three-point range in the boys’ game to three made three’s for the Rams. Greene County lowered its turnovers to 13, well below what they’ve been at lately. The Rams were down 22-20 at halftime and quickly tied the score early in the third quarter before PCM pulled away to lead by as many as 15 points. For the Rams, senior Isaac Carman had a career best 15 points while junior Nick Madsen went for a career best 12. PCM had three players in double figures led by senior Cutler VandeLune with 16 points.

The Rams are home tonight for fhe fourth time this week. Grand View Christian (Des Moines) travels to Jefferson to meet the Rams. The girl/boy doubleheader can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage is at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 o’clock and the boys to follow.
