The AC/GC Chargers boys wrestling team is in action tonight.

Head Coach Lane Rumelhart says that the team is coming off a great tournament appearance from last Saturday, where the guys took home a 4th place finish out of 16 teams. He explains that tonight’s matchup will be the Riverside Dual, where they will be taking on three other teams, and shares about how the team is looking forward to the challenges they may face tonight.

“Riverside has been a top 10 team all year and I see us matching up really well with them. We’re going to have three open weights that they’re going to fill. I mean, we’re giving them a free 18 points out of the gate. So we’ve got to win more matches than they do, and I think our team is prepared and ready for it. It’s kind of one they circle on their calendar every year. But we’re not going to overlook Woodbine or Tri-Center either. They both are teams that have talented kids sprinkled throughout, and we’re going to have to beat them just as well.”

Rumelhart mentions that having participated in the tournament and facing off against the three strong opponents tonight will help the Chargers prepare for this Saturday, when they head to Interstate 35 for the West Central Activities Conference Tournament.
