This Saturday is the annual Adair County Cattlemen’s Banquet.

Iowa State University Extension Beef Specialist for Southwest Iowa Erika Woolfolk says that anyone who enjoys beef can join them at the Adair County 4-H Building in Greenfield, as the event is open to the public. Doors open at 5pm for a social hour with live music from Red Dirt Renegade, with the banquet to begin at 6pm, with a prime rib dinner catered by the Chuckwagon Restaurant out of Adair, with adult meals for $30, and a meal for children 10 years old or younger at $10.

Woolfolk mentions that the evening will also include the annual meeting, along with the heifer project and senior scholarship recipients, the Friends of the Cattlemen, along with a trophy and a live auction of items donated for the event all beginning at 7pm. She adds that a few of the items for the live auction include 2025 Adair County Fair Beef trophies, processing of one whole beef at Guthrie County Quality Meats, and firearms from McCunn Specialty Guns and Brewer Firearms.

Cattlemen members can renew their membership at the banquet, and those looking to join the group may also do so. Woolfolk says that there will be forms on hand during the event for those individuals who need them. Woolfolk adds that for anyone who would like to just come in and enjoy the music at 8pm, there is an option to pay a $10 cover charge to do that.
