The Stuart City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council tabled switching to an hourly contract with engineering firm Veenstra & Kimm as they would like to get a little more information, approved a proposal for an Iowa Code enforcement contract, and approved putting the 2025 cemetery mowing and spraying contract out to bid. They also approved the payment of $46,699.47 to Ardent Lighting Group for 2023 Wambold 3rd Addition street lighting, a change order of $11,400 for the 2023 Sanitary Sewer Project, and set a public hearing on proposed ordinances granting franchises to Guthrie County Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Farmers Electric Cooperative, Inc. The Council then tabled a decision on police body cameras and software, then heard an update from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk.
