Wildcat double header basketball action continued on Friday as the West Central Valley Wildcat basketball teams traveled to Woodward to take on the Woodward-Granger Hawks. The Wildcats split the decision, with the Wildcat girls picking up a 32-30 victory over Woodward-Granger while the Wildcat boys fell 50-43.

It would be a back and forth contest between the Wildcat girls and the Hawks with West Central Valley taking a one point lead at the end of the first with a 8-7 score. Woodward-Granger would come back and score 14 in the second to take a 3 point lead over the Wildcats, 21-18. Coming back from the break, the Hawks would hold on but the Wildcats would be right on their tail, just one point behind bringing the score to 27-26 going into the fourth. The Wildcat defense would lock down the Hawks in the final quarter only allowing 3 points, to claim a 32-30 victory over Woodward-Granger.

The boys match would start off with a bang, with both teams answering one another to tie the game up at the end of the first, 11-11. West Central Valley would begin to gain momentum in the second, carrying the momentum and the lead going into half time scoring 17 points to take a 28-19 lead. Woodward-Granger would come back from the break motivated, locking down the Wildcats holding them to only 5 points in the third and 10 in the fourth while scoring 31 points in the second half to come back and claim a 50-43 victory over the Wildcats.

The Wildcat basketball teams are back in action tomorrow as they take on the Ogden Bulldogs on the road. Double header basketball action begins with the girls with tip off at 6pm.
