A Ralston woman was charged with a felony after allegedly sneaking drugs into the Dallas County Jail on Sunday.

According to court documents, a Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy was sent to pick up 25-year-old Miranda Schlicht on a Dallas County warrant at the Perry Police Department for a simple misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia around 2pm. The court documents state that the deputy conducted an initial search and was unable to identify any drugs or weapons on Schlicht.

However, when Schlicht arrived at the jail, a female Dallas County Correctional Officer did a more thorough search, and allegedly found a small white baggy under Schlicht’s bra strap. Court documents show that Schlicht admitted that it was methamphetamine, and the field test was positive for the drug that she was carrying 1.53 grams.

Schlicht was then charged with a Class D Felony of possession of contraband in a correctional institution and a serious misdemeanor of possession of controlled substance-first offense. Schlicht is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
