A Des Moines woman was arrested from an alleged incident that happened in 2023 in Greene County.

According to court documents, 54-year-old Valeria, formerly Beaston now Ulrich of Des Moines, won a jackpot of $2,505 from a slot machine at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson on November 8, 2023. As she was leaving the machine, court documents show that she gestured to another individual to be at the machine to claim the winnings. The other individual provided their identification and Social Security card, but video surveillance showed Ulrich had won the jackpot.

Court documents show that when casino staff entered Ulrich’s information into the Iowa Department of Administrative Services Offset Program, she owed the state $24,000. She was charged with a Class D Felony for gambling-avoid setoff. An arrest warrant was issued on November 13, 2023. Ulrich was arrested this past Sunday in the 200 block of South Chestnut Street in Jefferson. She was booked and released from the Greene County Jail after posting a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
