It was a slow start for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustang girls who would end the first quarter with only four points. Meyer would end the second with 15 points while Smid would score 6 to take a 24-16 going into the halftime break. The Mustangs would keep the pressure on the Indians and would begin to run away with the lead, only allowing the Indians 15 points in the second half while scoring 31 of their own to claim a 55-31 victory over the Indians.

In the boys contest, the first quarter would be an aggressive battle with both defenses refusing to give in. DCG would battle, but would find themselves also behind by five at the end of the first 15-10. The Mustangs would begin to fire up in the second quarter, scoring 18 points as Tate Perrin would hit a big three to bring the Mustangs within two but the Indians would hold on to a 30-28 lead going into the halftime break. Coming back from the break, it would be the Dzolota and Cason show as Cason would have crucial steals and rebounds to get the assist to Dzolota. Dzolota would end the night with 24 points while Cason would end the night with 21 to claim a 15 point victory 76-61.
