At the beginning of 2025, two new individuals were elected to serve on the Greene County ISU Extension Council.
Extension Director Jeff Lamoureux says Wade Wuebker and Amber Keenan were each elected to the council from the General Election in November and are starting their first four year terms. Lamoureux states that they took over for Brent Badger and Dustin Fouch who stepped off of council at the end of 2024. He talks about the importance of what the Extension Council does within the overall makeup of the Greene County Extension Office.
“The Council is so important to what we do. You know, we have staff here who do the day-to-day operations, but we need that direction from the Council to kind of understand what the community needs, what they’re asking for to give us input, and then to make those decisions also on what to program. But really it’s important to have a good Council, an engaged Council, and we have that here, and we’re fortunate to have that.”
Lamoureux is excited to work with Wuebker who is in agriculture professionally and was in 4-H, along with Keenan who was also in 4-H and currently works with the Greene County Soil and Water District, as well as the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.
