An Iowa Senate Democrat is planning on tackling a common issue that she’s hearing from Dallas County residents; affordability.
Iowa Senate District 14 Senator Sarah Trone-Garriott tells Raccoon Valley Radio that as the cost of inflation continues to rise, it’s harder for Iowans to provide basic necessities for their families. Trone-Garriott identifies health insurance as a top concern and says that there is accountability when it comes to the insurance providers.
“Not just private insurance but Medicaid (and) Medicare. Making sure that people are getting the services, getting access to the healthcare they need and that it’s really serving the purpose, and that they’re not getting denied or prevented from accessing the things that are going to keep them healthy.”
Trone-Garriott indicates that the struggle to afford insurance is leading to a lot of frustration for residents and she is committed to working on ways to address this issue in 2025.
