The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in session Thursday.
The Board approved payroll change notices for Jenny Jessey as a social worker for Guthrie County Public Health and for Charles Abel in the Guthrie County Attorney’s Office. They denied a payroll change notice as presented for Casey Jones in the Guthrie County Attorney’s Office, but approved an amended motion giving a raise of half the amount requested, which came to $2,500. The Board then discussed with Guthrie County Attorney Dana Minteer, mentioning that they weren’t against giving a raise, but that the timing of being in the middle of the fiscal year was an issue, as they would prefer to do so towards the beginning of the next fiscal year that starts on July 1st.
The Board then approved the 2025 Iowa Communities Assurance Pool renewal as presented, publishing the 2023-24 annual financial report, then held the fiscal year 2026 workshop for the Board of Supervisors budget. The meeting ended in a closed session for an annual employee evaluation of Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern.
