Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School’s first ever Girls Bowling Head Coach Sarah Boesen is hoping to bring more awareness of the sport to more students.

Boesen tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she felt extremely honored to be named as the first girls bowling coach in ADM’s history, and believes that it serves as a good opportunity to participate in an additional activity during the winter season. Boesen is not only happy about expanding the amount of sports at the school, but more of growing the knowledge of bowling.

“I’m just really excited to bring that opportunities to our girls as well as get more participation in the sport, because it is a lifelong sport, and that’s one of the reasons that I wanted to be the coach is because this is something that they can do for the rest of their lives and starting an interest in it now is really going to pay off, and something that they can have to fulfill themselves after high school as well.”

Boesen confirms that their are 13 girls on the roster, consisting of nine freshmen and two sophomores. She acknowledges that the younger group of girls is good to building longevity over the next several years. ADM is 2-5 on the season after defeating Gilbert yesterday. The Tigers will now be off until January 18th, when they travel Oskaloosa to face Knoxville at Statesmen Lanes.
