The victim who died from the Tuesday morning house fire in Menlo has been identified.
According to the Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency the victim was 73 year old Denise Miller. Authorities say she was found deceased inside her home, at the end of a hallway when firefighters from Stuart and Menlo Fire Departments entered the structure as it was on fire. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management indicates that Miller’s dog was later found deceased towards the rear of the home. Authorities state that the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing to investigate the potential cause of the fire.
