Perry girls wrestling took the mat on Tuesday for their first competition of the year. The Jayettes were at the Panorama Girls Wrestling Invite and looked to be in midseason form. Perry sent just 5 girls, yet still claimed 2nd in the event. The winter break didn’t slow down Harper Peterson (100), Mercedes Ponce (110), Cate Erickson (115), and Julie Maylum (155), who each won their weight class. Ayden Erickson (125) added a third place finish. The invite win is the fourth on the year for Mercedes to lead the Jayettes. Full results below:
