A Minburn man was recently taken to the hospital following a collision that occurred this past Friday on Highway 169.

According to Dallas County Deputy Bret Maxwell, a crash happened around 11:08am involving 67-year-old Edward Noonan, of Minburn, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Truck south in the 20,000 block of Highway 169. Noonan allegedly slowed down then made an unexpected u-turn and collided with a semi-truck with a trailer, operated by Alfredo Mendoza, of Pharr, Texas. Maxwell notes that Noonan’s vehicle sprang into a ditch and came to rest in a farm field.

Noonan was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries, while Mendoza did not report any injuries. Maxwell indicates that no citations were issued at this time, but Noonan’s vehicle damage was estimated at $10,000 and is considered a total loss. Mendoza’s semi-truck and trailer was estimated to be $15,000, but not considered a total loss. Maxwell says that Dallas County Emergency Medical Services were on site to assist.
