Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton visited Paton-Churdan in Churdan last night in a Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader. The Rockets won the boys’ game, 60-46 and the Spartans won 52-28 in the girls’ game.

The P-C girls fell to 0-8 while EEHK improved to 3-2. Sophomore Alivya Smith played in her first game of the season and led the Rockets with 13 points. Sophomore Kaliyah Minnihan added nine points. The visitors led 33-7 at the half.

The P-C boys had a balanced scoring attack with 14 points from Phoenix Hartman, 12 by Cayden Stream, and nine each from Trevon Keely and Bryce Stephenson. Stream and Stephenson each were credited with 12 rebounds with five from Keely and four for Hunter Saffell. The Rockets led 30-25 at halftime. P-C knocked in eight three-point shots and improved to 3-4 on the season and they’ve won three of their last four games.
